Socials

We have our main pub social every Tuesday from 8pm at the Nether Inn on Perth Road. This is our staple night when most people get together, as well as when the signups for our trips take place.

As a member of the Rucksack Club you can enjoy exclusive discounts on drinks and food!

Alongside pub socials we have regular 'sober socials', which are more activity based and take place in non-drinking spaces. These can be anything from study sessions to treasure hunts to wild swims.

Every Tuesday before our pub social, we all head to Avertical World for a climb! There is a mix of top rope, lead and bouldering available and there will be plenty people happy to help you if you've never climbed before. We also use this as a time for some informal teaching, so if there are any climbing skills you want to learn then this is the perfect time to come along.

Once a week we have sessions on our very own gear store (Chrisaac) board! Here you'll have the oppurtunity to set your own climbs for others to try. The board was built and set by members and serves as a completely free and fun way to climb.

Once a semester we have a ceildh which is open to all members and non-members! This is easily the most popular event each year, and includes lots of traditional Scottish dancing, professional photographs, a whisky toss, and a raffle full of hiking and climbing related prizes. Some of the proceeds raised are donated to Tayside Mountain Rescue every year too!

After the ceilidh we often head to our club sponsor Firewater for free entry!
