We run trips every week of the semester, and you can come to as many or as little as you wish. These trips range in difficulty, but we make sure to keep it balanced so there will always be plenty of begginner friendly hikes throughout the year.
We have 'Give it a go' hikes at the beggining of each semester that you can join before you matriculate if you need convincing. These hikes are completely begginner friendly and open to everyone, whether you've hiked before or want to try something new, we reccommend coming along!

While our weekly hikes are mostly aimed towards hillwalking, where there's hills, there's usually crags. Climbers are encouraged to come along on any trips with climbing nearby, but we also run dedicated climbing trips too.

Sunday Trips
Sunday Trips
We run trips every Sunday throughout the semester, and in to the holidays for as long as people keep coming.
These go anywhere within 2 hours drive of Dundee, which could be anywhere from Crianlarich to the southern Cairngorms, and more.
Trips will leave early on Sunday and come back late. In summertime we usually leave around 8am, but in winter this will usually be 6/7am due to the much shorter daylight hours. The whole day out (including driving) is usually be between 8-12 hours.
We run trips to different ability levels, from beginner to advanced, so there will be options for all abilities.
Sunday trips cost £8.

Weekend Trips
Weekend Trips
Approximately once a month we run a full weekend trip from Friday through to Sunday. This allows us to go further afield, and explore the great parts of Scotland we can't reach from Dundee in one day.
We stay in huts in some of Scotlands best mountaineering areas, and from there we all get together and plan what we want to do. There will usually be options for munros, scrambles, bouldering, sport, trad, lowland walks, trail runs and wild swims.
The huts aren't always 5 star hotels, but we will always give you all the info about the hut before the trip.
We leave on Friday afternoons and arrive back (usually late) on Sunday night. When we leave exactly depends on how far away we're going - we try our best to accommodate to everyone's uni timetables, but especially for trips that are further away this isn't always possible.
We always go to areas with a variety of stuff to do so there will be something for all abilities, whether hiker, climber, runner or unicycler.
We don't always book the same trips/huts every year, but there are a few staples that we can't miss. Places like the Cairngorms, Glencoe, Torridon and Skye.
One trip that isn't to be missed is our annual Mystery Trip! This trip runs over the easter break for 4 days and as the name suggests is a mystery to those going! You'll only find out where we're going once we arrive there.
The cost of most weekend trips is £35 but this can go up slightly for some trips that are more expensive for us to run. This includes all transport, accomodation, and a big dinner on Saturday night.
Climbing Trips

Although climbers are encouraged on every trip we run, we also run dedicated climbing trips when we can.
Day trips are run weather dependently (so can be unpredictable) and within 2 hours drive from Dundee. These are usually on a Saturday, but can also be whenever the weather's dry.
There is a big variety of climbing accessible from Dundee, including bouldering, sport and trad. There is also a lot of variety in the style of climbing and type of rock.
At least once a year we run a climbing weekend trip, which will go further from Dundee to somewhere with a good variety of climbing. The location changes every year, but in the past we've gone places like Torridon and the Lake District.
Our climbing trips are usually suited to all abilities, so don't worry if you've never been climbing outdoors before.
Trip prices will depend on the distance, but for day trips it will usually be between £5-8.
For weekend trips the price will usually be between £35-40.

We are very lucky to have access to 8-12 seater vans from the Sports Union, but we rely on people driving them in order to run our trips. Drivers enjoy free Sunday trips and half price weekend trips! So if you've had your license more than a year then you should definitely consider signing up to drive. Get in touch for more info!
